Here are two tutorials showing you how to use the DoInk Drawing and Animations app:

This is the first drawing tutorial

This tutorial shows you how to draw on the iPad and all the tools that you need to know when you start using our app.

This is the second drawing and animating tutorial

This tutorial shows you how to use key framing and more flash style animating. It shows how to use the time line and pathing, some of the more sophisticated tools. It also shows you how to use “props” pieces of art like backgrounds, characters and animals created by other users in the DoInk community.

Calling All Beta Testers (Again)

Hi, everyone! It’s been a while (way too long, actually) since we’ve posted to the DoInk iPad blog, but we’ve been busy adding a bunch of new features to the app.

We’re gearing up for our next release, and we think you’re going to be really happy with it! There are some pretty big changes coming, and we want to make sure we get everything right. So, we’re once again asking for your help in testing and tuning the next version. We have a limited number of beta tester slots available, so if you’re interested in an advance peek and willing to give us some good feedback, please e-mail us.

And even if you decide to wait for the official release of the next version, we’re always happy to hear from you. Send us your comments, input, and suggestions.

Heads-up, DoInk version 1.3 is now available in the App Store, so get your updates going, we included a lot of fixes & goodies in this new version:

Drawing Editor:

Moved tools & color picker to top bar for quicker access.
Draw while tools, undo & redo remain visible in the bar above.
Added new paint/erase modes: Paint over shapes, under shapes, inside shapes or on selected shapes.
Added new geometry tools: create polygons, stars, and flower shapes.
Added bezier editing!
Improved transform tool: transform constrained, transform free, transform about axis to invert.

Composition Editor:

Added opacity control to new properties menu.
Added options to fine-tune timing & rotations to new properties menu.
Improved transform tool: transform constrained, transform free, transform about axis to invert.
Improved timeline usability.
Ability to see registered keyframes in timeline.
Ability to drag keyframe timing in timeline.
